So excited I could burst! We got home from holiday last night, around midnight, and this evening we're taking a four hour trip to meet our new puppy! Well, technically, we've already met, since I helped to deliver them, but this will be the first time we've seen them since. They're six and a half weeks old, apparently full of personality now and, other than two black boys that are being kept for gun dog training, I get to have my pick of the rest (from one yellow boy, three yellow girls and two black girls). I get to spend the night and all of tomorrow getting to know them and choosing one, and then have a long week and a half before returning to pick it up! I read three puppy/dog books whilst I was on holiday and can't wait to start training. Apparently, they are already sitting to a hand signal and running from their overnight kennel to their daytime outdoor run to a whistled command. ARGH!!!! SO SOON!!!!
Re: Choosing my puppy this evening! How exciting! Great to be able to spend so much time choosing. Or maybe that will just make it harder?
Re: Choosing my puppy this evening! How fortunate and lovely that you can spend all that time with them to be able to choose. You will see such a difference from when you last saw them. They sound trained already ;D
Re: Choosing my puppy this evening! exciting what was you thinking of a boy or a girl ? if a girl its going to be hard

But now, I really, really don't mind what sex or what colour. I'm hoping there will be one that "chooses" us, which would make it easy!!

Dogs choose us not other way around. I am excited for you.
Re: Choosing my puppy this evening! How fun! I'm sure you will find one that just fits for you....good luck!
Re: Choosing my puppy this evening! Good luck, we had a real tough time picking one of 5 black girls. I hope you get chosen! X
Re: Choosing my puppy this evening! How exciting! I'm sure there be "that one" who just seems to fit. My puppy was chosen by the breeder for me, with my instructions to look for the puppy most likely to turn into a couch potato! He had two litters to choose from, and I think he got the perfect little girl for me. I never even saw the others, so it really was love at first sight with Daisy Mae. You're in for so much fun! Take tons of pictures and videos right away - it's shocking how quickly they grow!
Re: Choosing my puppy this evening! How wonderful t spend such a long time playing with the puppies. I'm sure the right one will single you out
Re: Choosing my puppy this evening!
How did it go? You been chosen yet?
Literally JUST chosen. We got to the final decision between a feisty little black bitch and a beautiful near-white boy. In the end, the bitch won the toss. She is stunning and super friendly. I can't wait to bring her home next Sunday!!
