Don't ask me why, but this morning, I found myself singing to Shadow. Poor dog. I came up with a variation on "O Tannenbaum" O Shadowpup, O Shadowpup, How empty is your tummy? O Shadowpup, O Shadowpup, Do you want something scrummy? A slice of ham, some tasty meat? Or how about some chicken feet? O Shadowpup, O Shadowpup, Do you want something scrummy? Hit me with your Christmas carols for pooches.
Hehehe! Yes, on my own! My computer tells me I've been here for 84 days this stretch (at least that's how long since I was last connected to my home network to do an automatic backup - eek!). I think I'm going to have a shock to the system returning to civilisation!
I sing to Stanley all the time! I haven't broken out the Christmas Carols just yet but my most recent rendition was: You are my Stanley, my only Stanley You make my happy when skies are grey You'll never know dear, how much I love you Please don't take my Stanley away When I was finished I heard hysterical laughing behind me and I hadn't realised OH was in the vicinity. Oops
Haha, "you are my sunshine" is a song I sing to my OH all the time, and of course it's transitioned on to the dogs, too I also sing: Shadow Pup, Shadow Pup, riding through the glen, Shadow Pup, Shadow Pup, with his band of men. Gotta chase the ball, Gotta chase them aaaaaallllllllll..... Shadow Pup, Shadow Pup, Shadow Pup. Shadow likes my singing. Willow leaves the room. She gets "She's so lovely" by Scouting For Girls
My fav is "it's right to fight for what you want" from the flashing blade. We call Rory the flashing blade. Dont know the name of the song but its very stirring on a cold morning.
OK, you've got me on it now. I know that last year by the time 26th December came around nearly every carol in the book had had some sort of adaptation. I'll be back with some offerings. In the meantime, to get us in the mood, here is a video of Pongo on Christmas Eve last year. With apologies for the singing....had a bit of a sniffle <ahem>..... https://www.dropbox.com/s/9g8zxbjmalcjm7u/away in a manger.mp4?dl=0
Ohhhh I wish there was a love button! That's amazing! I hope Pongo will be more excited for Santa this year!
This thread has also inspired me to consider Christmas decorations - I'm now hunting for a Labrador Christmas tree topper and a personalised stocking for Stanley
Pongo LOVES Christmas Day. He gets to open EVERYONE'S presents, and then is in charge of pre-recycling for all cardboard, wrapping paper, string, ribbons.... And that is even before Christmas Dinner is served!
I just loved your video and singing!!! Is Pongo always so relaxed??? He is incredible. Thanks for the video.....
Pongo has two speeds: zero (as in video) and crazydoghyper (I'll leave that one to your imagination...)
Thank you! (I'm not sure Pongo appreciated the lullaby, he was pretty much asleep anyway. I liked his little sneeze, though...)
