Molly has shredded a number of expensive toys over the last year so I decided for Christmas I was visiting the pound shop. So on Christmas morning she unwrapped and quickly shredded both a soft toy and a squeaky plastic Christmas tree. But then..... (roll of drums) she opened the one containing a squeaky plastic Christmas pudding and played with it! It's still in one piece after 4 days, a record! I wonder if having the 2 other toys quickly removed and binned, she finally caught on to how to keep a toy? The only drawback is that it has the most ear-piercing noise. :
Re: Christmas present still in one piece! If you want to mute a raucous squeaker then poke a bit of thick wire through the hole. It forces the two reeds apart. We've had to do it to several of Holly's toys.
Re: Christmas present still in one piece! Amazingly, Chepi still has her chew toy from Christmas. It's a chew toy in the shape of a tug toy but we don't tug. She plays with it more than anything else, lying on her back and tossing it in the air. No squeaker.

Re: Christmas present still in one piece! I know your question was for Jane, but I don't play tug with Molly. I have found that she has a habit of letting go of her and of the toy and lunging for my end. The potential for an accident with her teeth is huge, so I find other ways to interact with her.
