My friend's dog has had a litter of pups and I am going to take one of the bitches. My daughter has fallen in love with the fattest pup. She has rolls of skin on her face and a really tubby tummy. Her legs look a bit shorter than her littermates too. The other pups are all slim and long legged and I much prefer the working line build. The wee fatty has a lovely gentle nature though and her temperament seems much more suited to our family. Will she grow out of the chunkiness? Should it not matter?
They tend to end up like their parents and all grow at different stages. If you have met Mum and Dad, that should reassure you.
Birth weight is probably a better indicator than size now as she may just be getting to the food first!
Yes maybe. My friend says she seems quite lazy too in comparison to the others and is maybe just better at getting the food. They are all fed together so she might be getting a bit more than her fair share. She is adorable!
