I am going to try it, I think I am confusing her with all my different praise words and often the moments past when I do praise her. She only woke up once last night, hope it will last! Today is my first afternoon at work. My Mum in Law is going to come over after an hour. When I see her getting sleepy I tell her to go into bed and she does. She is still howling alot but going to work on leaving her more often so she gets used to been left. My boys prefer her asleep so go and see her when she is nice and calm. I take her outside often, and she is doing her business. She was paper trained but now at night she isn't using the paper. Her create was dry last night. She has been to MIL when we went for Sunday dinner and a trip to vets for a health check. I need to take her out for a little "cuddle walk". Planned a trio to school but she fell to sleep before we left. School is only across the road from ours. Love her to bits!
Re: clicker training and a story of how we are getting on. Sounds like she is going well I do find that we make more progress in training sessions with a clicker. In theory, a marker word should be just as good, but it's really hard to be consistent and accurate, I find. I 'get it right' more with a clicker and my dog seems to have a better understanding of what I'm on about. I bet she'd love a school visit
Re: clicker training and a story of how we are getting on. Thank you. It's been hard with my hubby away but I think we doing ok! When I said she not using the paper for the toilet anymore I meant she is using the bare floor. Does that happen once they get used to going out? I have ordered some bio washing powder to use. Vets said will help her to stop.
Re: clicker training and a story of how we are getting on. Sounds like you're doing great. Not sure about the paper thing - we couldn't use paper because Digby would just eat it!!
Re: clicker training and a story of how we are getting on. Does sound like things are going well Jade. Dont worry too much - she will soon be clean and dry. The main thing is to be watching her the whole time, so if she looks like she is going to squat, you can catch her before it happens, take her outside and then praise her to the skies!!! It does work, and takes a surprisingly short time (though while you are cleaning up wee several times a day it can seem like a long time...).
