I have a 3 year old female that loves to retrieve on land. but she refuses to even leave the pit when hunting in cold water.
does anyone have advise on what, if anything, can be done to help her deal with the cold water.
she wears a 5mm neoprene vest....but it appears to be on no help

My late Labrador boy didn't take to water at all , until he was mature . The way I got him to go in, was to go in with him in the shallows , but this was in summer when the weather was more conducive to getting in myself !

@danhutton - When you say 'cold' water, how cold are we talking? Is it icy or just what a person might consider cold, less than 55 degrees? Will she retrieve in water in the warmer months?
