Morning guys... I'm just looking at getting Bob a collar name tag and wondering what words I should put on it? Would it be best to put my name on it and not Bob's? I mean I'm worried if someone found him they would know his name so may be able to call him and strike up a bond..?! What do you put on yours? I'm thinking: MY SURNAME PHONE NUMBER Thank you, Lou x
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? I have my house number, postcode, and mobile number.
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? On Murphy`s; Dogs name My surname Mobile number Postcode Plus the word "chipped" HTH Steve.
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? Definitely your phone number as a minimum. We actually have: - dog's name (however it's on there as Oberon, which he doesn't answer to - he answers to Obi) - our address - our mobile number Would also put vet's number if there was room. I honestly don't think that having the dog's name on the tag is a risk. Anyone with a raw steak could get your dog's attention - they don't need a name... But there's no major advantage to having the dog's name on either. The important thing is that you can be located
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? We have surname, address, home and mobile number on
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? We have surname, village name, phone number plus " chipped " x
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? Here is the Actual Law in UK http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/tra...ation-for-dog-owners/dog-identification-tags/ Although I dont think it is enforced to any grea degree I have on Bouncer's tag. My Surname Phone number the word "chipped" DO NOT PUT YOUR DOGS NAME ON IT.
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? Very similar to the others.... We have our phone numbers and "I'm chipped" on it.
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? I have: Surname Chip (because I couldn't fit chipped) House number and postcode for example: 2/ft168uj Mobile phone number I didn't put the dogs name or my first name or a street name. I complied with the law but kept back info I didn't need to give. It's amazing how much can fit on a tag 8)
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? I don't have Charlie's name on his collar - but not because I'm worried someone will be able to get his attention by saying his name. It's never worked for me.... ;D ;D ;D
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? I have the legal requirement that others have mentioned i.e. Your Surname, Phone Number, Address (House No./Postcode) and although not enforced it was actually required for the KC Bronze award as we went over that in training last night - so if you plan to do those you may want to get those 3/4 items on the tag. Can I also suggest you get a few dog tags - Kenzi is approaching 9months and we've already lost one tag so spares do come in handy.
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? We have what has been said already re info. We also got a spare tag with my SILs name and numbers on for holidays - migh be worth considering if you have a regular doggy sitter ?
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? Yes just to add to Skooch you have to have the legal requirements to pass any of the KC obedience awards including the puppy foundation assessment
Re: Collar tags.. what is the best thing to include? On mine I have the following: MICROCHIPPED My mobile number OH's mobile number House number, post code. One of my friends has on hers that her dog is speyed but if I had that on mine I would have to sacrifice another piece of information which I think is most important. I was told I wouldn't pass my KC puppy foundation course unless I had my surname on it so I had to get another one printed up just for that, I only got a cheapy one for that though and have that one on her 'spare' collar. My mum had her landline phone number on hers and I said to her that if her dog went missing would she be sat at home by the phone waiting for someone to call or be out looking for her? If you're out looking for your dog what good is it for the only phone number a member of public to have if they find your dog the one you're not going to answer!!! Plus they are away camping with the dog almost every weekend and they don't have their landlines with them do they!!!
