In three months time , it will be three years since we adopted Millie , where does the time go ? I was looking at photos taken of her , some as recently as 18 months ago , her brown patches were a lovely chestnut colour , deep and vibrant . Looking at her now , the difference is so evident , the brown has faded to a shadow of its former self , like a mucky beige . I guess its just a natural aging process and of course, she is loved , no matter what her coat looks like . Also noticed some greying on Sams muzzle and he is still a youngish lad :)

Perhaps it is Millie's winter coat coming out and there is lovely chestnut hair ready to grow for the summer, or maybe she is like the rest of us as we get older, going grey?! My Rourke is only just 4 and already greying under his chin.

It's sad to look back and notice how they've aged over the years but along with those grey hairs and faded colours they've become older and wiser........hopefully! :D

My Pointer as a youngster had a beautiful dark brown face, now at nearly 10 it's almost completely white right up to his eyebrows and Lucan began growing grey hairs on his chin from about 18mths old, I was gutted.

Millie is just going for a different look. As people age and go grey they should dye their hair lighter than their natural colour not the same or darker because colour pigment in skin and hair lightens with age. Millie is doing it naturally. :)Scout has a very grey goatee beard. He started going grey at three as did my old lab. Scott has only just started getting an obvious grey beard.

There's about 8 years between these 2 pictures of Belle - she's faded a lot & lost the beautiful black band from her head.
