I have been to look at a 5 week old pup and noticed that one of the upper canines was misaligned. Is this likely to correct itself as the adult tooth comes through or, as I am potentially thinking of showing him, is this something that is a cause of concern?

Hi and welcome. I don't have any direct experience of this, because both my dogs have good teeth, but I understand any misalignment of teeth can get worse, not better, as adult teeth come in. I suppose it depends on why, but the underlying reason can be because of the conformation of the jaw and so you would not expect that to improve with age.

As Julie said, my understanding is that it's likely to worsen rather than correct itself. I would be wary of any breeder who would recommend a puppy with misaligned teeth to a potential show home.
