    Hello everyone,

Finley is 18 months old and has caught Kennel Cough and I was wondering if anyone has used cough syrup on their dogs before? She has had kennel cough a few times, but I have never given her cough syrup. Someone suggested I try it today and I thought I'd ask if anyone has ever used it on their dogs before.

    Thanks!!

Hi , I take it you mean human cough syrup ? If so , please don't use it , it could contain medicines that are harmful to dogs . One really good thing to use, is good old fashioned honey , many dogs ( my own is one ) will take it off a spoon or lick it from your hand , just a teaspoon full a couple of times a day , hope it helps

Honey is the answer! I gave it to my boy Pongo when he had kennel cough - just dip a spoon in runny honey, so it is coated in honey, and let him lick it off very very very slowly, a tiny bit at a time....
He loved it. And it did help the cough.
