Please can anyone offer me any tips on the early stages of crate training a new lab puppy (she arrives on Sat!) when you've got older labs in the house (I've got a 4 and 11 year old).

For instance they sleep together on beanbags and I suspect pup will much prefer snoozes with them than in her crate!

Perhaps it makes no difference to crate training, but I can't find any info on this so just thought it worth asking the Forum for any advice!

    Thank you for any replies

I think you just train as you would normally. Having the crate in the same room as your other dogs will probably help her settle at night, regardless of the fact that she's in there and they're on their beanbags. Just make the crate a really safe and rewarding place to be - feed her in there, make it warm and cosy for her, let her "find" treats in there that suddenly appear as if by magic, make sure she's never pestered in there.

Two more sleeps, how exciting! We expect pictures immediately she arrives! :D
