    Re: Crate training

    Hi Hollie,
Have you read Pippa's article on the main site Crate Training Your Labrador Puppy. If not, then I think it will help.
There are also plenty of threads discussing this too if you just do a search on "crate" - might be other helpful things.
I must say I would really really recommend making the crate a safe place, a den, and using stuffed kongs to make the crate a really great place. Using it for feeding generally helps to associate it with good things.
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the replies - i shall definitely go and read up. We have done some training like leaving it open for him to go in and out during the day whenever he likes and praising him for getting in it himself. We have taken him on a couple of long ( long for him!) walks today and i thinks its done the trick as hes been in his crate since 11 now we're in bed and we havent heard a peep! He also went to the toilet a couple of times whilst we were out which i think has helped. Im not sure if he was just not liking the fact he'd "gone" in his crate and had to sleep with it hence making more noise.

    We may have cracked it!

His name is Rocky :) he is a black lab. Im on my phone atm but i shall upload a picture at some point!
