Re: Crufts gundog day I didn't read the responses, because I can imagine them, but I really liked the blog post. Disgusted by the fact that the BIS winner picked up her dog by the head and tail, and, despite warnings, continued with this practice and still won.

Disgusted by the fact that the BIS winner picked up her dog by the head and tail, and, despite warnings, continued with this practice and still won. [/quote] From what I can gather, the KC couldn't really do anything about it other than repeat "we don't like this" because it's not forbidden in their rules to pick the dogs up like that, it's just a guideline that they shouldn't be. So, legally, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on by excluding the handler for her repeated behaviour, or removing the title in retrospect. Of course it's disgusting and no-one should handle their dogs like that, whether or not terriers are bred with "strong tails", but this needs to be reflected properly in the rules. I hope it will be in time for next year.
Re: Crufts gundog day Yes, exactly. A mere 'guideline' leaves them a bit powerless. As you say, one hopes that the guideline will now become a rule.
