The standard poodle... No. Why would you do that to such a lovely dog?

Such athletic dogs underneath all that fluff and in a working trim I quite like them :)

I liked the mops on wheels - no idea what they were though!

    I liked the poodle too.

Well didn't make it to Crufts as there is always soooo much to do and never any time :(

Ooh don't like those funny little dogs that you can't see their legs.

Was anyone else concerned by the almost wire like show lead the Standard Poodle was wearing? I don't like those show leads forcing up behind the dogs ears to keep
    their heads up :(

Will be watching the Gundog section later :)

their heads up :([/quote] I hate those too. They were the fashion for GWPs when I was showing but I always went for the very loose draped across the shoulders look that let the dog stand 100% naturally rather than being oiked into a false pose. Pleased to say bit by bit a few others took up the same :)

MMM good for you not using those nasty leads, I have to say the more I watch it the more I disagree with the methods and how some of those poor, poor dogs look - miserable :'(

Nothing really wrong Helen, but just how does a dog styled like that go about normal Life, that 'do' he is working is hiiiiiiiiiigh maintenance ;D The owner was interviewed later and says he gets scruffy and muddy in between shows.......I doubt that very much! ;)
This is only me but I like a dog to look like a dog ,I know that's not everyone but Ricky, although very striking and unique is far too exotic for me ;D

Have just seen the Fox Terrier that won the Terrier group and it is perfection!! Absolutely stunning and a real dog shape. Don't see many now but they were very popular in the UK between the wars.
