Re: Crying in crate during the day only Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I've spent today doing lots of short sessions. The radio has been on tuned to Radio 4 (we had been doing this anyway and I wasn't sure if it was helping but I will persevere with it) and using frozen kongs. The treat fairy has been scattering the crate as well - in fact, she's not really getting any meals as all her allowance of kibble is being used on the crate. She is now managing about 10-20 mins with a little bit of whining/ short squeaks if I am in the other room. The kong keeps her attention for about 10 mins but when I go back to her, she has never finished all of it and has a sudden resurgence of interest in it just as I go to take it away. She does love her kong so I am only giving it to her when she is alone in the crate. I do now have a very tired puppy though as she has not been relaxing properly and having a good sleep during the crate sessions. Is it worth telling her "no" or "ah ah" when she whines in the crate or should I just ignore it and only go back when she is quiet. Today she hasn't really been doing it constantly - more every minute or so sort of like she is trying to remind me that she is in the crate and would like to come out please...
