An article from the BBC about Guide Dogs in London http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-28945834 Have to say though it's not only Guide Dogs that are at risk from being hit or frightened by cyclists - I've had a fair few near misses with Penny and as a result she now lunges for cyclists.
Re: Cyclists threat to Guide Dogs Yup, nightmare on the common too - and not just on the cycle paths. Charlie has a "sit to bike". ;D ;D And I call out to approaching cyclists "my dog is to the left/right/whatever" - most people look at me in bemusement as though where my dog is, is of no concern to them. It darn well should be!
Re: Cyclists threat to Guide Dogs You are right, they should be aware as apart from hurting a dog, they can be tipped up and hurt themselves! We have cyclists hurtling down the hill paths and I always warn them if one of my dogs is ahead and round a corner, most are grateful in this area.
