Or should I say S-day?! Chepi has gone in for her spay. She may be under the knife at this very moment. She was a naughty girl this morning and lunged for the cats' food, inhaling a mouthful, which I have had to declare at the vets'. Slightly concerned about it not going ahead now.
I am sticking to my plan and have emptied the car (eek!) and I am sitting at the car wash place. Vet beds are washed and we have clean towels. Supermarket next. Not bothering with a manicure as it's hardly worth it since I have got into muddy dog walks.
Hope she's ok :*

She'll soon be home and very snoozy.

Then tomorrow comes the hard work of keeping her quiet!

Thinking of you both xx

On the day of Merla's spay, I ended up doing an hour long on-lead road walk in the rain to fill the time between what should have been breakfast, and the vet opening - just couldn't sit there with those eyes looking at me ;D ;D I bet Chepi's not the only dog to grab a sneaky mouthful of something illegal!

We did a walk before the vets' too and I was still too early so we went for a drive and I was still too early so we walked up and down the street and then blew up the inflatable collar.
It's done now and I am picking her up just after 2. Will just have time for lunch and a quick vacuum around. Lining up the dvds, getting the duvet down!

Hope she is ok when she gets home, lots of duvet snuggling for you both this avo....mind you there wasnt much duver snuggling when I got Cuillin home after her spay. She was sleepy for a few hours, and then tried to hurdle the sofa in an attempt to go out and play with my sister's dogs. she seemed to pick up very quickly :)

[IMG]Spay day - feeling glum by jchambersmartin, on Flickr[/img]

She has cried a lot since we got home. Or just stands not knowing what to do with herself. Lying down now for a snooze. She's eating but hasn't had a drink and looks interested in going outside for a wee but it's raining so she won't go.

Glad she's home safe and well. Mine are always a bit beside themselves for a few hours after a GA - I think it's the opiate we put in the pre-med, it messes with their heads a bit. They don't seem to know what they want, whine a lot to go out, come in, eat, have a drink, lie down, get up etc etc. Lasts a few hours, they go to sleep at night and are right as rain the next day. Hope she's fine later.

Ah, glad it all went ok and she's home. Maisie is the same after GA, lots of whining, groaning and wandering around. x

Glad the spay went well :) . Harley was really restless for about 24 hours, then was really placid for a few more days. She came to life on about day 5 post op - she had an emergency spay and also found a twisted hernia which they repaired at the same time, so probably a bit longer to recover than normal

The drugs do seem to make them a bit wonky.... I hope she's so much better tomorrow - I'm sure she will be :)

Glad she's back home. She's likely to be a bit off colour this evening, but it's amazing how soon they're back to normal. The problem then is how to keep them 'quiet'!
