pet medic rang me today jasper is booked in for consultation on the 9th august followed by a c t scan on the 16th august :) i am absolutely gutted, i have cried all week end, :'(........its just so unfair, my first dog to suffer like this,......the plus side is the vet said recovery is rapid......if love will help his recovery , he will be better in no time :)

Oh Lynne , I could cry with you , I know how distressed you are . OK so its a cliche, but he is very young and will recover well Im sure, its just us, the caring owners who go to pieces :(
It isnt fair Lynne , that those who dont love their dogs dont seem to have these problems , but one thing for sure , your care will go a heck of a long way to aiding Jaspers recovery :)

Oh Lynn... So sorry. good thing is that the vet says recovery should be rapid.

Try not to get too upset - Jasper will pick up on your emotions, so if you can manage to put on a brave, calm face (even if you feel like crying inside) it will help him too...

    Hi Lynne,

Hang in there. He's so lucky to have you to find out what's wrong and look after him properly. Having been down a very similar route I know just how you feel, especially as the dogs don't understand what is going on, but I'm sure you've made the right decision.

Lynne, you have been so brave for Jasper and I know how much you love him, it is the love you have for him that will aid his speedy recovery. Your right it's just so unfair but Jasper is your boy and he will get better with your excellent nursing skills. Keep being brave Lynne, you have to for Jasper's sake. We are all with you and Jasper, so cry and shout on here if you want to, we will listen. Lots of love to you and Jasper, big licks from Hattie & Charlie. xxxxxx

Lynne try not to worry about the recall , you can still practise this in your house, just so that he doesnt forget or even very very short ones in your garden . The fact that he is walking well on his lead shows how receptive Jasper is and with your help, he will soon be off lead again and all of this will be a distant memory, for both of you x

Just very relaxed slow recalls Lynne , no great distance and no jumping, but it will help Jasper to keep his mind active too :)

So sorry you are upset Lynne, but we all know you will do your absolute best for Jasper and you will be giving him the best of care and attention.
The way I look at it is, imagine if he wasn't with you, but someone else who didn't care - he might be left to suffer, end up in a shelter or even worse.
You too are a great team and all will work out well.

    Keep your chin up
    xx

Lynne, I know what is like to worry about a dog's health. Almost all of my dogs have had serious injuries at some time in their lives that needed operations to sort things out. Vets are amazing people and I am sure you and Jasper will be looked after in the best possible way. Be strong for your lad. All the best to you both. X

Thinking of you and Jasper, Lynne! I agree with Jac - he's in the right place and in careful, loving hands and he's going to be just fine. You will get over this little hurdle and then he'll have a long and happy life - without any limps or pain :) Your vet is going to get it fixed. :)

Big hugs from me and licks from Obi! :)

lynne Jasper is the luckiest boy to have you as his Boss Mum...you knew there was something up and acted quickly and he will get so much love and care from you to help him recover. and you are seeing the positive in this difficult time- his lovely lead walking! ear rubs for him from me and licks from cuillin and brodick....
