New puppy mummy anxiety part 2

Wondered whether this is normal. She's done all her poos in the garden, but after each solid poo she tends to do 2-3 more loose poos, so she's probably done 2-3 solid poos and 3-6 loose poos in the last 24 hours.

She didn't sleep much all afternoon yesterday but was very dosy yesterday evening, slept through the night and is pretty dosy again this morning.

Imagine this is all down to her change of surroundings and the exhaustion of all the changes she's facing, but just wanted to check!

It's great that she's done all her poos in the garden. I'm not an expert but I think most books advise that your new puppy could have more poos than normal or runny poos in the first days. Just keep an eye on her that she's eating and drinking and puppies do sleep a lot a bit like a young baby and she could be more so today after all the excitement and strangeness of yesterday. Is she on the same food as the breeder was feeding? Something not many people think of is the change in water and it's effect on the body. I used bottled water for Juno for the first week or so and then gradually switched to tap water. Sad that I am I even bought bottled water from Brittany as that's where she was born.... If you're worried have a word with your local vet as it's better to be sure she's ok.

Quite often loose poos are due to the meals being too big. Try cutting down a little or giving more feds till her tummy can cope :)

Photos needed! (not of the poos - of the puppy! lol!)

    :)

I wouldn't worry :) She's had a big change in her life and loose poos can be a consequence. Most likely things will improve over the coming days.

As far as the quantity or frequency goes, that sounds fine to me too. They do eat a lot for their size (got a lot of growing to do!) which means lots of poop, and they don't have the capacity to hold it in, which means frequent poops :)

    Relax :)

Brilliant - thank you for the reassurance! Not normally neurotic!

She's come from the country with their own water supply ie no chlorine so that could be responsible. But will keep an eye on portions too. She seems happy and well overall.

SO next question is how do I get a picture on to a post or my profile?
