My hoover packed up two weeks ago so I'm using my small back-up but it's struggling to cope with Juno's current shedding even though I sweep the hard floors every day . We're moving back to the UK soon and will be investing in a new hoover - so what are we all using in an attempt to keep the fur drifts from taking over :D

Should add that new hoover must be good on carpet as we've moving from ceramic floors to carpet apart from kitchen/diner .......

I'm not in the UK but I have a Dyson and it seems to pick up the dog hair pretty well. I vacuum the vet bed every few days and it comes up sparkling! I also have wooden floors and I must say I'm not having as much luck cleaning those as I seem to sweep the dirt from one spot to another

Also Dyson Animal fans. We use it...er...I won't say how often because you'll think me a total grub. But when we do use it the vacuum is heroic and fabulous.

Sounds like a Dyson Animal - just need to convince the OH that it is a good investment. Shouldn't be too hard as he will be responsible for the hoovering :D:D:D

And me, every day well almost . I also like the attachments, especially the soft round brush type. Great for skirting boards. It's amazing where fur gets to when she's moulting.

I'm a Miele girl - I have one with extra filters to cut out dust coming back. I do like it. I've had a couple of Dysons and thrown them out. Still. that was ages ago, they have probably changed a lot.
