None of our Labs have been problem diggers, but Cooper has discovered the gravel paths in our back year, and seems to like digging holes in the paths. These are made of 1/4- gravel about 4" deep and compacted with a plate compactor so they are not easy to dig in. Our back yard has all manner of dirt and forest duff that would be easier and more likely to have something in it, but she only digs up the gravel paths. I'm going to get the plate compactor out and re-compact the areas she has worked on, but I'm at a loose to explain why she digs there.

Anyone else have a gravel excavator? Any Idea why she might prefer gravel to other things? I guess I should be happy, because it doesn't make much mess and probably keeps her nails shorter.
