I'm thinking of getting Stanley a DNA test, just out of curiosity. I'd never really considered it before, but the more I see photos of the Pig I think he looks a lot like her. And with him being really small I'm curious as to whether he does have a small amount of another breed. I think pointer maybe, OH thinks springer. (If I do it we can take bets ) Has anyone done one that they can recommend?
You think he looks like he has Pointer Pants? Stanley looks like pure Lab to me! And The Pig looks very English Pointer. A DNA test would be fun, just to see, but he honestly looks Labrador to my very untrained eye.
I think if he is a mix it's very slight. Probably not even a quarter. It was on the pics of her new collar, she looked like the pics of Stanley in his new collar. He's really small - I don't even mean skinny. He's short for a Labrador and looks quite dissimilar to all of the ones we see near us. Everyone assumes he's still a puppy. With not having any papers I'm just curious
He reminds me a lot of Xena, and unless there's some jiggery pokery somewhere, she's got the papers and pedigree that proves she's Lab. I'm sure the DNA test question has come up in a facebook group I'm on, and I don't think they're that reliable (the same way some of the human ancestry tests are pretty unreliable).
It will probs be a waste of money and come back full lab I just asked my friend what she thinks.. her response:
I have wanted to do one on Quinn, but OH won't let me (he says it's a waste of money and I'm crazy to DNA her when we know she's all lab). People always ask what her mix is...her litter mates look so much more "labby" to me.
He is definitely part angel out of all the labs on the forum, Stanley looks the most like the Pig, I must say, but it might just be that he is identical to her Labrador half! I was actually just thinking this evening how similar he is as I was watching the video of him next to the plate of food...but I can’t pinpoint what about his face makes me think that. Shape of the eyes maybe...
