Hi Silly question but does anyone know what these bumps are called on Toby’s face. He has one each side in the same spot with hairs growing out. He has always had them but I want to refer to them and was wondering what they are and if all dogs have them. Thanks.
Hi J.D., Those hairs are Toby's lower genal tufts! They're a type of whisker - or more precisely vibrissae - and they contribute to his sense of touch when he's exploring. You can read more about how dogs use their whiskers here if you like I don't think the lumps at their base have a special name, but I'd love it if someone could correct me!
OMG he is adorable! Wish they could stay this small and cute - instead they become big lumps of cuteness!
