Is £149 too much to spend on a dog bed... I LOVE this one!

    http://www.orvis.co.uk/p/deep-dish-dog-bed-with-quilted-sleep-surface/19a2

Bob is only 16w so I would rather get something that he can grow into and that will look nice in our lounge. Rather than have to replace something in a few months time when he's grown out of it. He's only allowed in our lounge when we are here so it's all supervised.. so we know he'll sleep in it and not on the sofa....

What do you think? Have I had a funny 5 minutes and gone totally bonkers?!

    Looks gorgeous.
I think Julie and Angela have Orvis beds (or maybe just aspired to have one or two :D )
I think you would have to be very sure Bob isn't a chewer.
I think my OH would have a hairy fit ;D ;D

If I had £149 to spend on a dog bed, that is the one I would buy, looks heaven, treat yourself and Bob for Christmas ;D Life is short, have pleasure when you can.

I know he wouldn't chew it because the only time he'd be on it would be when we are in the room as well. My only minor niggle is that he'd prefer this to his crate downstairs.....!

er....well...I'm a bit addicted to Orvis dog beds, and I love them, and can see me having them for years and years and years.

I'd say you could get great beds for cheaper, but if the family budget allows you to splash out on one, they are lovely. Really lovely.

I don't have the deep dish, I have the memory foam. With the covers washed and the bolsters plumped up, they look like new. Not a sign of wear on them.

This has appeared twice in different topic threads - I assume this was an error - I will try and merge them if I can work out how - hope that is ok.

Julie, we don't want to buy this again... so what size do you think? I said to OH Medium... but he thinks large..

Small 35½" x 25½" outside dimensions, dogs up to 40 lbs.
Medium 40" x 26½" outside dimensions, dogs up to 40-60 lbs.
Large 50" x 37" outside dimensions, dogs up to 60-120 lbs.
    X-large 57" x 45½" outside dimensions, dogs 120+ lbs, multiple dogs.

I got large, and haven't regretted it. But medium would be ok, I think.

There is plenty of room in a large...even so, when he stretches out, he fills it, but his paws are still inside.

Shock admission - I have 3 Orvis dog beds. :-[

I can no longer see the one I think is best on the Orvis site. The closest is deep dish with memory foam. I've not been quite so pleased with the fleece one, the bolsters are a little floppy. But to be fair, the dog walker steps on the side of it everytime she puts Charlie in his pen. ::)

Oh WOW Julie that looks amazing! I think we'll go for it. I'm just worried he'll hate his crate.. I think I'll treat him to another fleece blanket for downstairs.. I've seen some lovely ones in BHS... hopefully that'll make it nice and snuggly!
