Hi, Bruno is currently on Skinner's dog food, which i don't think totally agrees with him, been looking into the minefield and have come across Eden Dog Food : http://www.edenpetfoods.com/product...eden-original-80-20-0-multimeat-and-fish.html I know there is lots of different views but does this look like a good food? Bruno is due to be neutered Friday and want to make sure that I can do everything in my will to make him healthier. Thanks
I had a lot of problems with my young dog due to colitis and it took a while to find the right food for him.. Theres a website called all about dog food which rates and gives info about lots of different types of dog food. It helped me a lot. eventually I found that my pup was intolerant of chicken (I got this advice fron the producers of mIllies wolf heart food) and now feed arden grange potatoe and white fish but may try Millies own brand eventually. Its an average type of food and I did try more expensive but they were just to much for him and his tum. I think its just a case of looking around and trying a few and find which suits him best, there are lots a good foods out there. Good luck I'm sure you will find something thats better for him.
I had a look at the link and the food looks pretty good to me, but then I'm no expert. If Juno wasn't on Hill's Prescription for her ED I would be tempted to give the eden pet food a try (if they could ship to France), I am going to investigate the glucosamine and chondroitin content of both foods though and see which offers the best. One thought that crossed my mind was that when Juno was spayed our vet recommended switching her to one of the foods formulated for neutered dogs, so it might be worth having a chat with the vet on Friday.
Is Juno on Yumove Plus? Casper has HD and AS in his back he was prescribed yumove about 7 weeks ago and I think it really has made a difference
If you get yumove get the working dog one you get more for the same price as the other but because it's for a working animal you pay less tax on it. It works out cheaper. I've used it on my middle dog since she was about 9 and i do think its helped her, she's 12 now and very fit and still very active. The working dog has a probiotic in it too. my pup was so bad with his food early on in his life and had so many tummy upsets I gave up on getting vet recommended food. he could eat it but it made him itchy and spotty and he always had runny poops. I did my own research and spoke to loads of different people and I found that he was intolerant of chicken and now feed him fish and he's fine. I think he's much happier now and is actually a good weight now
I don't buy Yumove but an own brand supplement from the company I order all my pet food through. Formulation is the same I think but works out cheaper as non-branded. I don't know if it has any great impact as she is on the J/D food as well but she loves her 'treats' and the cost overall is negligible on a daily basis.
