Just back from a 5 day break in the west of Scotland - with the WiFi though you may not have noticed I had gone!
Great wee holiday cottage - found on the Sykes cottages website. All mod cons, warm and toasty with its storage heaters, fully equipped kitchen, and only £302 for our stay the week before official half-term which I think was a bargain!

Totally dog friendly with a large paddock for exercise, and no slippy shiny floors in the house to freak out poor Lilly (a definite consideration for us). The owner lives just next door in the farmhouse with her hubby and her retriever, and there is also a 2 person cottage in the adjoining part of the conversion we were in. It was pretty good all in all. Lots of things to see and do, and also loads of beaches for Lilly.
Heres the link if anyone is interested.....

and some pics of the property grounds and places we visited.........

we can also recommend visiting the distillery at Campbelltown - a superb tour of the "Springbank" distillery which shows you the process right from malting to bottling which is unique in Scotland ( ;) and I KNOW these things)

We had a great time. We visited Scott on the way home, and we did miss him a bit, but know he would have been bored. Its strange but I think even in the 3 weeks he has been away he seems more mature and grown up (well.....apart from the playing tricks on housemates business ::) )
Hope Grace is enjoying herself as much as Scott is. And you are coping xx

There weren't a lot of deer around where we were although we did see one down in Kilmartin crossing the road - a large chap!
A friend on FB also recommended another place around there...... "We stayed at a fantastic self-catering place Ri Cruin. had our own stone circle in the grounds and the Temple Wood circles 5mins away"
I think the area is great.
The place we stayed had a sleep 2 as well as a sleep 4. The other guys there same time as us had 2 staffies so I know they don't limit to the one dog like some places.
I would definitely recommend Sykes first choice for looking.
