Hi I’m new to this forum. I have a 15 week old lab who has frequently had hiccups since we got him. When I asked the vet when he had his injections she said it’s nothing to worry about and it’s to do with him eating too quickly but he’ll get them in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this with their puppies?

Welcome to the forum Claire, it's great to have you here!

While you're waiting for the experiences of our other members, you might find this article about dog hiccups on the main site interesting too :)

    Welcome to the forum, Claire!
Sorry to hear your pup is giving you things to worry about, but I've never personally heard of any research to suggest that hiccups in dogs can be a sign of any problems (although I'm not a vet!). Hopefully it will stop soon, and you can go back to enjoying your little puppy uninterrupted :)
Let us know how he gets along!

Hiccups are extremely common in puppies (and very cute!) - they are totally harmless and will go away (sadly, except for rare moments!) as the dog grows!!

My puppy gets hiccups quite a bit :) Pretty funny to be honest.

My puppy would get the hiccups a lot, too, and it would seem to be random (nothing to do with her food intake). I think she's largely grown out of it. It was disconcerting though, because I had no idea they do that and of course no reason to expect it. Turns out puppies are full of weird little quirks no one tells you about! ;)
