Re: Dog in car without crate We passed the vet's on our lunchtime walk, so nipped in to use the scales. It's ok! Charlie is 27.6kg! Phew, below 28kg, and the lightest he has been. The vet nurse fixed him with a strong look though and told him to get his tail off the floor! ;D ;D ;D
Re: Dog in car without crate Pops is 25 kg, and I was intending to get the medium. If I get it. At the moment she is right in the back, but sometimes we do like to have her on the back seat, either if there is too much luggage, or else if it is too hot. So thanks for the info! Rachael, Allsafe also sell a sort of clip, which looks like the connector between the harness and the seatbelt. Do you not have that because you use the Sleepypod connector?
Re: Dog in car without crate Cooper is finally in a car harness and is doing pretty well. Whimpers and doesn't get comfortable for a while and then, finally, falls asleep. One thing I found today was to leave the front windows open and the wind coming in seems to either calm him or put him to sleep! Thanks for the info ALL of you sent me. I am so glad that he is locked in with his seat belt but can also like down or sit up and be comfortable. Cooper is turning 16 weeks next Tuesday....he is a really big boy. Wish I could get his photo up but....am not electronically savvy!
Re: Dog in car without crate
Rachael, Allsafe also sell a sort of clip, which looks like the connector between the harness and the seatbelt. Do you not have that because you use the Sleepypod connector?
As this thread came up again in a link I realised I'd not answered your question, Karen!! Very sorry. We do have the Allsafe connector and use it, but actually don't find it long enough so we extend it just a bit with the strap from the Sleepypod. The backs on our car back seats are very high and the the strap has to go a fair way between the dog's back and the anchor point - but in most cars you could just use the Allsafe We're still very happy with the Kleinmetal Allsafe harness
Re: Dog in car without crate Hi thanks for the info re harness, I drive a Mini Cooper - 2 door ... Currently Bella is on the passenger seat in a crate that straps in via the seatbelt but that will be too small soon. My back seats do go down so the other option is a crate in the back but not sure how I could stop it from moving/ sliding around so harness / hammock might be a better idea ...
