I've learned my lesson - my old dogs were certainly at rule 9 and were verging on rule 10, so now Poppy is only at 6. ::)

    Re: Dog Rules

I stopped at 4 many years ago after a 3 year old spayed female peed in her sleep on my bed, twice. My dogs sleep in their own beds in the bedroom with me, but not on my bed! Even my 14 year old has her own, very cushy, bed. They come snuffle at me in the morning, but they know which beds are theirs and which one is mine!

Our previous dog started at 2 and crept to 4. Somehow without anyone noticing both the current incumbents went straight to rule 7. They only stay at 7 as they show no inclination at all to progress....

Phew....looks like I'm not the only one at 3 then. Just can't handle a big dog on furniture and beds....nope. Not doing it.

We're at 2!!! Rileys not allowed upstairs.

He likes to test the sofa every now and then but is firmly rebuffed. Our holiday cottage was all on one floor so he thought he's check the bed  back to his own bed he went though :-\ I would definitely have him on the bed if it was just up to me ;D

    ;D

When we go to Cornwall we always head off in the afternoon of the day before and stay in a dog friendly hotel half way there. Every time when we get into bed and turn the lights off, after about 1 minute there's a whoomph as 30kg of labrador leaps onto the bed. ;D She usually settles after being put back on her own bed though.

    Charlie is great!

Mine both went straight in at Number 7. Currently saving for a King Sized bed as opposed to double, I have about 2cm of room ;D

We are at 4 with Luka. The open staircase to the bedrooms is too scary for Luka so he has not experienced sleeping on a people bed!

    Still holding at 6..... just!

Last night we almost moved to 7. When I got up to go to the bathroom Holly slipped (uninvited) onto my side of the bed. I had to evict her so I could go back to bed!
