    Hi there :)

Through recommendations from this forum i bought the book total recall, and followed the instructions to the letter.

My lab really is now 'addicted to recall' to the point where he will run away purely for the sake of being whistled back! He will run away and then stop and look back waiting to be whistled, and when we don't, he runs a little bit further and repeats until we have to give in because he's got so far its dangerous.

Any tips on how to train this out of him?!

    Thank you!

I think you could make this a fun game so your dog just wants to keep coming back to keep playing. Something like Tornado or Mighty Middle from Absolute Dogs' Leash off Game On worked for us. As long as you can recall your dog and put a lead on him if necessary (maybe do some rapid lead on - lead off -treat activities too) I wouldn't see this as a problem. Maybe practice some off- lead heel activities too and get the rewards in before he runs away.
