My 9 months old black lab and I are attending training classes since he got all the necessary vaccines. The trainer uses mostly positive training methods, with some aversive ones which I just try to ignore.

But lately she has been pushing me to get a halti for my biy, since he is pulling a lot more in the presence of other dogs.

He is in peek adolescence and we had to take quite a few steps back in training which I don't mind. We went back to basics with basic commands, recall and heel work. I'm just quite annoyed with my trainer for pushing the halti on me and am reconsidering if i should continue attending classes at this time.

Does anyone have an opinion or any advice as to how to continue with training?

    Thanks to all.

You and your dog should feel relaxed at training classes. Personally I would rather have a couple of one to one sessions than group classes. I don’t know what others feel about a halti but I don’t like them. Keep doing what you feel is right.
