    Hi Pippa,

Would it be possible in the Future to maybe start a place where Dogs/Litters are advertised for sale along with a Dogs wanted site?

    Regards,
    Paul.

    Hi Paul

It would certainly be possible to have a section for this, I will have a chat to the other admins and see whether they think it would be a good idea.

Any thoughts on the subject from anyone else are welcome....

    Pippa

If we did this there would need to be some rules to ensure that the forum did not become a place for puppy farmers or those breeding indiscriminately to advertise puppies, it needs some thought....

I agree 100%, but having said that I would like to think that the sort of people we get on here are Lab fanatics and are genuine. But is there some way to weed out the individuals that do breed just for the wrong reasons?

No need to be rushed I am sure you will think things through and agree on the right way forward.

    Regards,
    Paul.

How about making it for amateur breeders only, and then using the KC guidelines as to what that is (three litters a year is ringing a bell?). Professional trainer/breeders probably won't want to be advertising on here anyway will they? It's your forum, you can always change the rules if it isn't working out...

Rocketman - I don't know - professional breeders love a bit of free advertising!

I could use some advice on selecting a responsible breeder. I live in Virginia and plan to purchase a Labrador for my son in Sand Point Idaho. Logistic, logistics logistics!

There are plenty of breeders in the Pacific NW. Probably better to let your son select the breeder and the pup. Our last pup, Cooper, came from Country Fowl Retrievers in Adrian Oregon, right across the river from ID though far south of Sand Point. (PS I'm originally from Kingsport)
