I am currently on holiday for a long weekend in Rome with my oh. It is absolutely boiling, like 39/40 degrees Celsius. And I have seen a couple of dogs that have made me really sad outside the vatican in the sun there was a poor black fluffy dog who actually looked like he was picking up his paws because the ground was burning them, and an oblivious owner. And then a minute ago (much later in the night so cooler in general) on the metro there was a poor old German shepherd who was panting so heavily and looked so thin and was with the dodgiest looking blokes it depresses me so much it literally makes me want to cry. I loved Murphy so much and did everything I could to make sure he was well, happy etc etc and this happens, and people treat their dogs like crap and they are fine. It's so unfair
They are not fine, Frankie. I don't want you to make you feel bad about the other dogs....but even with pets who most people think are happy and well cared for, I find myself screaming (silently, mostly....) "can't you see how that upsets them?!?!". Murphy's life was too short - but it was still a life full of love, and care and happiness. He doesn't know how short it was, he only knows he was happy. That's priceless.
Ah Frankie,it's horrible to see dogs suffering through the heat ....I've pulled my car over a few times and spoken to people walking their dogs MID MORNING....mostly to no effect whatsoever....and I hardly see anyone walking their dogs in Dubai at the moment and carrying water for them....and the temps are in the mid to high 30's.....when it's dark!It does make you very sad for them and you must feel it fiercely at the moment.Aside of this I hope you are enjoying the rest of your break ,Rome is a beautiful city xxx
