Re: Dogs on the bed.... In our house its up on the bed for gravy bones, then nudged off at lights out to sleep on her memory foam bed at my side. Then whenever the first body stirs (even if its a loo trip at 4.30am she will usually hop back up and snuggle in the crook of my legs. Weekends she can stay up a bit longer, but eventually hops off herself. Lilly is of course generous letting us sleep on her double bed at night.
Re: Dogs on the bed.... Dogs have always slept on my/our bed, but only one ever slept in it (a Cocker, who used to climb up under the duvet, from the bottom of the bed). Tara did go through a phase of sleeping on the bed, but at 5 months, has now decided the floor is better!!!
Re: Dogs on the bed....
It's a fundamental law of the universe that no matter how big the bed the dog ends up commandeering 97% of it with the remaining 3% divided between the humans.
It sounds like marriage, Rachael. In Canada, men are taught how to sleep on 10% of the bed.
Hi Naturalvizion and welcome to the forum Dogs can certainly hinder sleep...they have no hesitation to push up around in bed.. If you find that your dog's presence on the bed is disrupting your sleep then it's perfectly reasonable to get him or her to sleep on her own bed
My lab is brilliant on the bed - she has her own wee cover at the bottom and sticks firmly to it! She won't go in the bed unless it is there. She sleeps there all night and doesn't drift over at all.
