I don't have any experience of dogs with depression so I will leave that part to those who do; my experience is around a hot dog. Snowie never liked cuddles, would not snuggle with us on the sofa or bed, and always moved away from being cuddled. I do believe that it was because he was so hot. Now that he's a much cooler dog (apparently the anticonvulsive drugs for epilepsy have a cooling effect) he loves to cuddle with us on the sofa and now he sleeps on our bed most of the night. It is winter so this might all change in summer. But all previous winters he was not doing this. Tilly might be hot overall from her infection -- the inflammatory response does make one feel hotter. So she might just feel too hot for being cuddled and too much body contact. Does she have a cool spot where she can go lie to cool down?
