    Re: Ducklings

It's just so that they are not so frightened when they have to be carried somewhere in a cat box :) In Christopher's case it's also because he is going in a show and has to get used to being in a smaller space. He's not thrilled about it....but he'll get used to it :)

    Re: Ducklings

The photos are gorgeous,Christopher will be chilled right out about his carrier very soon I just know it xThe ducks are so big!im laughing about the ornament ,just shows how on high alert we are for new ducklings and how poor Rachael will never be able to go through rearing a batch of ducklings alone ever again,if there's the slightest hint of a duckling in one of her photos and she's not told us I can tell there's going to be a massive expose and huge investigation! ;D
Obi just gorgeous as always ,hope, his scratch is all better?ill go back to your thread Rachael I got a bit lost about that and his photos has just reminded me x

There was a massive ducky commotion in the yard this morning. This large, duck-eating, aerial predator seemed to be the problem..

    Re: Ducklings

    Hehe, exactly ;D

They recovered from their ordeal soon after and went back to quacking at Marco Polo, Freycinet and LaPerouse (three other ducks in a pen in the backyard).

Tomorrow I am going to take two of my older ducks (two Khaki Campbell crosses called Jansz and Torres) out to live on a friend's farm (the agistment option I had mentioned earlier). They will be the advance guard. If it all works out I will send some of the Swedish out there. I can visit them whenever I like (I don't work every second Friday so Obi and I can take trips out there some Fridays).

The relocation of Torres and Jansz will give me a bit of room and I will have a think about how I want to re-arrange the other birds. The indoor ducklings' Grandma, Tasman, is going to move and will go in with her son (Solander or Solly) or grandson (Christopher). Other than that I am not sure. I generally keep groups together as much as possible but the time has come for a little bit of rearrangement. I'll keep you posted!
