Another egg in the nest this morning (70g) so I think we've cracked it :) What a good duck.

She is a clever one :) I was really glad when her Mum, Tassie, began laying as I knew she'd start to lay in the nest and I thought that Temeraire might copy her.

Tassie is an amazingly prolific layer and I hope Temeraire will be the same. She's a funny girl - will run up to ask for treats when anyone comes out the back door or goes near the veggie garden (lettuce). She's also quite curious about Obi and follows him about a bit sometimes, watching what he does and chattering away.

Will get some pics tomorrow :)

Here's Tassie and Temeraire having a nice bath together :)

Obi's arrival made them think about getting out of the bath...

I had let the ducks out a bit early today and Tassie laid her egg somewhere under a tree. Obi found it and brought it to the pavers to smash it and eat it.

The chooks are hanging about because they want to eat any leftover egg shell.

Obi is looking a bit ruffled in these pics as he's just had a bath. He hopes this will earn him your sympathy.

    Great pics as usual.
Question is, though, any shell left for the chooks?

There was a little bit :) Obi doesn't usually eat the shell but this time he did. The ducks haven't laid for a few months so maybe he was just desperate for an egg :)

I bet! Would a duck egg make a meal for him, a breakfast say?

(Time to shake up my raw feeding plans! ::) ;D )

It'd mostly substitute for a dinner (evening), which is just a tin of sardines. Eggs are a great, nutrition packed food to add to your dog's diet :)
