I know it's not the case but they just seem to have got to this size so much quicker than last year x

I'll try to get a pic of them near the adult ducks (with a fence in between). They are still small compared to the grown-ups :) But, yes, they do grow incredibly fast.

    Wow!
They do look to be growing at some rate....
Has Obi giving them extra scran? (ok, maybe that's unlikely :D )

What's scran when it's at home?

The big bib one is still a bit lanky and teenagerish to say what his type will be like but I couldn't be happier with his bib. He has a bit more black on him than I'd like and the lacing on the edge of his feathers isn't as pronounced as I'd like (but that might improve with his next lot of feathers). He's also got a bit more white under the bill than is ideal, but it's not bad by any stretch. And no bird is perfect. Got my fingers crossed :)

The two girls already have a home with a lady I know who takes very good care of her birds. But they'll be staying here till after Christmas, so they'll be around for a while yet :)

As it is a naval term Rachel must start to use it at once, in keeping with her theme.....

    I will indeed.

Peas are the ducklings' favourite scram.

I hope that spelling mistake is down to auto correct as any sea farer would know it's scran not scram ;)

Wasn't scran something to do with sultanas, currents, raisins and nuts...or have I made that up? Or it's something my dad used to say (merchant navy, so bound to be wrong).

Oh, yes - I used to have a colleague who lived in Australia for a while and had something called trail mix for breakfast. She called that scroggin, not scran.

Few pics from just now :)

The yellow one is still quite yellow looking due to all the green leafy stuff they get. It makes the new feathers kind of buttercuppy as they're coming in. They will go white though. The yellow one doesn't swim in the big pool as much as the other two - though I think it's mainly because she hasn't fully got the hang of the ramp.

I was looking through the pics from last year. None have lacing that is as good as Ariel's. Will see if I can get an update on Ariel :)
