In fact with his mind bending hypnotic skills Obi could just 'influence' them to follow him!

Let's face it, right now Obi is thinking "what fools - get my controlled human to show them ducklings and I've got them hook, line and sinker. Great, all those vids of squeaking ducklings give me direct communication with Dex, Charlie and Brew. Like taking candy from a baby....".

And I don't care, Harrison is too cute...

Hmm, maybe it's just Rachael's cunning plan to ensure the survival of rare breeds...?? Obi has been unwittingly ensnared by the master?!

And when your feet are that big, black is such a slimming colour... Loving Meriwether - one chilled duckling! Meri would work for a girl, but my guess would be that Meriwether isn't female... *sigh* Relocating to Oz in time just isn't practical.

Now Rachael. it seems the youngest of your 4 ducklings remains nameless, unless I am mistaken.
Does the wee blue one not feel left out?

Could I perhaps suggest Woodget (which I see pronounced as Widget ;D )??
This is of course ::) after Richard Woodget, best known as the master of the famous sailing clipper Cutty Sark during her most successful period of service in the wool trade between Australia and the United Kingdom.
    It seemed appropriate ;)

Jac, you are correct!! And Woodget suits perfectly :D And I've seen the Cutty Sark at Greenwich.

Clare, I do suspect that Meriwether is a boy, because of the large bib (usually a boy characteristic). But dark legs and feet are a girl thing, so the jury is out. :)

I suspect that some kind of elaborate, global duckling-implicated plot is under way, but I assure you that it's not of my making. All I know is that we found a Lambie in our bed this morning. Apparently Hubby spent half the night avoiding lying on it in the mistaken belief that it was my arm.

Obi was at daycare so they had a little excursion out into the lounge room:

They are all doing really well, as are the two with the hen. They had some time outside today in a rabbit hutch, with a baking tray to swim in.

You are right! The two outside with the hen :) They are both doing really well too, and are actually bigger than these indoor guys (despite hatching at the same time) because they are eating a lot more, being in a cooler environment. They are still small enough to fit under the hen though, and they were under her when I looked a little while ago as it's 11 degrees here this morning. So much for summer :)

Name suggestions welcome for those two bubs as well.

Magellan? Madge if it's a girl....

I was heading down The Tempest route as it always makes me think of the sea but I didn't think any of the names were ambiguous enough except perhaps Ariel :D

Magellan is a very good name but it is already taken by their Dad :) We call him Jelly for short. He and his group of 4 ducks are collectively known as The Jellies.

I like The Tempest idea...stormy seas and all that. And Ariel is a nice name.

Ships names are also good - especially if involved in exploration in some way.

You know the pic of them in the bath? Meriwether's tail appears to have been replaced by a pompom...

They are just so gorgeous. How do you ever get anything done???

Most certainly! :) I will take a pic of them later and you can choose which.

Clare - luckily, I am on holidays for another week and a half! Not much gets done during Duckling Time :)

So do you have names, Rachel? I was going to suggest Temeraire, which the name of a ship or two in the Royal Navy. It is also, incidentally, the name of a dragon in a popular fantasy series.

Temeraire would be great!! :D Ariel and Temeraire it is.

And here they are having their first direct encounter with the 'indoor ducklings', who also have an outdoors pad in the form of this rabbit hutch.

Relations were entirely harmonious! Ariel and Temeraire also had a swim in their own, personal, outdoor tub.

In terms of which is Ariel and which Temeraire - one has a larger bib and one has a small bib. Barbara, if you want to choose one to be Ariel and then the other can be Temeraire.
