    Hi!

I rescued a Yellow Lab, he is an awesome buddy and love him to death. His nose is very light colored, and he has the missing pigment around his eyes and his feet are pink too.

I am pretty sure he is a Dudley BUT. He also has some spots/splotches around his muzzle right near his nose.

He looks and acts like a Lab through and through but I was wondering if Dudley's have spots near their nose sometimes?

Again he is a rescue so I am not 100% sure he is all lab, not that I really care, I was just curious.

He’s gorgeous. Looks 100% Labrador to me. And, yes, I’d say he’s a Dudley.

It’s not unusual to have a bit of uneven pigment. My Labrador (yellow but not a Dudley) has a few darker patches on his nose too.

He's gorgeous and for what its worth, looks all Lab to me. As you say though, it doesn't really matter - you love him as your buddy :)

    He’s lovely.

Here’s an article about Dudley Labs -https://www.thelabradorsite.com/dudley-lab/

My Gypsy was born with a black nose but it soon became pink. She’s 12 months old in this photo but it’s even pinker now.

    She’s a Lab/GR cross.

Hello and welcome! Like you say, probably a Dudley, but he's adorable whatever! My yellow boy's nose went from black to pinky-brown, and it changes in colour depending on the season (aka "snow nose") but the dark around his eyes tell that he's not a Dudley. True Dudleys are missing the black gene.

I'm still not entirely sure why it's considered a fault in the show ring; they're just another combination of the colour genetics and I think they should be celebrated for that! Maybe one day they will be considered acceptable, just as chocolates are now.

I agree. Dudley colouring is no different to the skin pigmentation in Chocolates. Doesn’t make sense to allow Chocolates and exclude Dudleys. They should all be allowed.

Thanks everyone. He is a sweet and mellow furr-buddy and is such a great dog. I am a Combat Vet and have PTSD and am looking at him becoming my service dog. Without any official training he already helps me out so much. I am truly lucky to have found Him though Lowcountry Lab Rescue here in SC. I really feel he and I were meant to be together.

After my Daisy passed in April after 14 loving, amazing and wonderful years, he was the ONLY dog or puppy I saw that I felt any kind of connection. I am truly blessed to have him.
