Hi there, my name is Klasina. I'm 40yo and live in Tilburg (the Netherlands, close to the Belgian border) with my partner, daughters, cat and....you guessed it, poodle. The poodle turns 4 this friday, she is black, 16lbs/8kg and our fur baby. She is a very easy going dog, easily pleased and without real big issues. Nevertheless, there are a handful of not-so-big-but-they-are-there issues Like jumping up to people (indoors only) and a 50/50 respond to a recall. So I read and read and read and read some more, I started training her a month ago and it's a lot of work to get it all right, to avoid mistakes and to even know what those to avoid mistakes are. We have fun though, and she is a happy, quick learner. In the meantime I found Pippa's book Total Recall, and we started on that also. I had some questions about it and found this forum to ask hem, huray! Although I don't have a lab, I had a black lab 20 years ago and I think that still counts ;-)
Hi Klasina, Welcome to the forum! We're happy to have any breeds of dog here, and Poodles are high up the list of favourite breeds for me I'm glad to hear you have Pippa's book, I hope you find it really helpful!
