Hi, me again! Our puppy is finally allowed out! So we gave her a session in our garden today. She went mad! Only have a small garden so we didn't use a lead which was clearly a mistake as she was so excited she was eating everything. We are very careful with slugs, we go out with a torch each night and do a slug check before she has her last wee, but I'm worried about the other things she is possibly eating in the garden. Mainly grass and she has a go at the plants. It ends up being a game of chase around the garden , which I don't want. So I was wondering how best to deal with it? " leave it" command? Treat if she does? Many thanks M
Hi M Personally I would double check any plants ensuring nothing is toxic. After that I wouldn't worry. Some dogs do like to eat grass/plants. The official reason I believe is along the lines. Dunno they seem to like it.. If you can avoid the lead as if they still get to do what the want they can develop a strange liking to pulling. I know fro m rescued we have had i rd not easy to train out of them. of course leave command is something we are trying to get down with are pup. Like drop its a must. Chris
