Molly was diagnosed with allergies after developing a sore rash on her tum and a few other symptoms within weeks of coming to us. The vet prescribed antibiotics and the steroid Prednisolone. Molly is currently on the last few days of the 2nd dose of this.
The past couple of days she's developed serious squits and I came down this morning to a playpen absolutely covered
Obviously its back to the vets yet again but has anyone else had to give this drug to such a young dog? Molly is just over 4 months old.

    Oh dear, you poor thing.

My dog was about 12 months old when he started prednisolone. Initially it made him thirsty and then wee a lot, and also a little sleepy. Only lasted for a day or two though. Normal poo though.

The runny poop might be co-incidental and not related to the steroids or the antibiotics (though if it was one of these my money would be on the antibiotics, not the steroids). Good idea to check with the vet though.

Thanks for your reply Oberon. Normally I would suspect the antibiotics too but she actually finished those about 4 days ago, before the squits started.

Oh, no worries :) Hopefully it is just a co-incidence then.

Pongo was on steroids for the same reason. No problem with poo, but they did make him nervous and jumpy.
