At least I'm not the only one! I had imagined you'd all have well behaved dogs that had been trained at ten weeks not to touch anything

Oh goodness no. Round here, any food left on a horizontal surface has to have a guard human stationed by it. If I go to anyone's house and they have food sitting on a low surface I have a minor stress attack, even if we don't have the dog with us. Mind you, Obi is better than my previous dog who would not bother waiting till you averted your gaze before helping himself. He once ate a piece of toast and a poached egg off my mother-in-law's plate as she had her cutlery poised above it. Ex-mother-in-law, so good boy ;)

On a bit of a tangent.... I was making boiled eggs for dinner tonight and I thought 'what the hell, let's see what happens' and gave Penny her first egg!! She took it outside, dropped it on the floor and proceeded to slurp the contents and munch up the shell. The cat tried to get involved too but Penny scoffed the lot!

She's decided she loves eggs now so was drooling while I ate my dinner and was trying to eat the shell off the plate as I scooped it into the bin :)

Harley loves raw eggs......she takes it outside, holding it very gently in her mouth, puts it down on the grass making sure not to break it, then can take up to 25 minutes before breaking it  she plays with it.......with her paws and in her mouth ;)

    Hahaha laughing at that. ;-)

Vespa ran in and struck her tongue in the sugar bowl when my adoption social worker was round for the first time. She didn't actually eat any, just ran out of the room with a sugary tongue hanging out. Now ex-social worker so-good girl! Haha. Thankfully I have another one. Phew. ;-)

Btw re the thing with the lights out, I remember seeing something similar where the dogs left the treat if the owner was there in front of them but if the owner then closed their eyes they stole it! Mental. Eggs=great but fed up with sweeping up bits of shell from my kitchen floor!

    Clever......

With the quote thing, go to the post that you want to copy from and click on the text that says 'Quote' at the top right. It'll staty a new reply box with the other person's post in it. If there are bits of that quote that are not relevant you can delete them - but don't delete the stuff in the square brackets []

If you have already started a reply box you can still add others' quotes by scrolling down to their post and clicking on 'insert quote' at the top right.

Poppy does the exact same thing! Then she breaks it veeeerrrryyyy carefully, so there is a little hole in the shell, and then licks out the white and yolk. She doesn't like the shell, leaves it almost intact and very clean! Funny creatures they are. :D

I think Penny dropped hers by accident. I'll give her another one at the weekend and see what she does with it!

Raw eggs are a big favourite here. Charlie carries it round in his mouth very gently placing it on the ground and rolling it around for a good 15 minutes, makes a hole in it and licks out the egg leaving the shell. Hattie chomps and devoures the whole egg in about 30 seconds and then gets Charlie's shell ;D I love watching them xx
