Not long now! My previous puppies all settled in the car immediately, whereas Molly screamed blue murder - so be prepared for either response. Have a great day tomorrow.

    Hi Annie,
    So exciting!, ;D
We are bringing our puppy Nellie home next Wednesday so we are frantically puppy proofing the house!
I've also bought a heat pad and doggy cover for our pup to try and settle her in her crate.
I'll be looking out for your posts to see how Juno is settling in!
    Good times ahead.

All of a sudden I am thinking: "Have I got everything?" "Where will I feed the cats?" Then, after all I HAVE had two children! That was all new the first time and being more relaxed for the second it seemed a lot easier. So I am telling myself to chill out!
    Nicola, next Wednesday! Wow!

I know Jane, we wait for what seems like an eternity and then it creeps us on you!
I have just had to order a new freezer to store our puppy's food. She is being weaned on a raw diet and I thought I had room in my current freezer but when I worked out how much she will need to eat in the first few months I realised I would need another one.
I am now £160 lighter and a plug will need to be fitted this weekend where I am going to put it so that was left a bit too late!!
I am thinking anything else will only be a visit to the pet shop which will be a good excuse for a socialisation trip.
I've had 2 children and had a labrador for 13 years and I am still worried!!

    Annie,
Forgot to say what a beautiful pic of little Juno. I can't wait to see plenty more.

    Juno is gorgeous :)

If you have any panic moments - don't panic, that's normal! It all work out just fine. :)

Looking forward to hearing all about Juno's homecoming.

    Adorable!

We didn't find out the exact date we were getting Haley until a week before we picked her up so it was a scramble to prepare! Though the breeder is reputable, I didn't like her communication skills...I tried contacting her weeks before to get a date.
Anyways we did a big clean, a few big puppy shopping trips and we got no sleep the night before from excitement! The day we got her I couldn't believe how cute she was!
Unfortunately the breeder have us three half pills to give her, one the first night, the next morning and again that night to help with possible diarrhea that could occurs she said from the change I. Water and the stress of being removed from her litter....she was lethargic 24 hours after we got her, she threw up her lunch the day after we got her and she refused to eat dinner or drink water that night so we rushed to the emergency vet and it is a good thing we did! And it was lucky I brought the last pill with is! (Haley wouldn't take it) it was a hard prescription drug that is only prescribed to older dogs, and it can cause neurological damage if overdosed...and at half a pill it was an overdose for a puppy her size. My OH and I had to take shifts that night watching her to make sure she didn't have a seizure (luckily she didn't) and the vet have us a can of prescription food which Haley slowly began to eat.
Anyways once the drug got out of her system she returned to her normal puppy self and she has been amazing since! And at almost 14 weeks old (5weeks having her) I still can't believe how much she has added to our lives!

    Re: Excited but nervous!!!

Just a quick update... Bought Juno home today! No crying on the way home, which surprised me! Been in and out the garden all day trying to catch the wees!! They go so quickly!! Half the time I'm not sure if she is squatting or just sitting! Haha! She just amuses me so much just watching her playing and investigating the garden and house... As the day has gone on you can see she's getting more confident. She literally bounces everywhere and headbutts everything! Crazy! She has eaten all her meals extremely quickly.... Then makes whimpering noises when it all finished... Like she wants more!! My other half has had to put together a make shift ramp this evening for the back door as we have a small step down... It didn't cross my mind as it's no bother for us humans but juno struggled getting up and down and don't want her to hurt/damage her legs. It's now midnight, my fiance is just settling her now so fingers crossed for tonight... Can't wait for tomorrow!! And yes Dexter I am in love... Her face and those eyes are just too cute!! ;D Xx

Hope you had a good first night!

Just a thought with the quick eating. My pup Albert was exactly the same and I wondered if he'd even tasted any of it. I put 2 large smooth pebbles in the bowl with his kibble (much too big for him to swallow) and it slowed him right down. He's 4 months now, and I still use them, and he's never once even tried to put them in his mouth, just accepts them as part of 'dinner'.

There are also special bowls you can buy that have the same effect, and I'll buy one of these when he's older.

    Have fun with your pup.

I was thinking of making a ramp for the back door too, what did you use?

    Re: Excited but nervous!!!

So here is Juno.... She has kept us very busy!! Last night she cried for half hour (the longest half hour ever, so difficult to ignore the cries!!) but that was it until 4am when I let her out in the garden then she went back into the crate till half 5 so not bad for first night!

Jane we just made the ramp out of spare wood lying around in the garage nothing special!
