Hi everyone. With regret Bud's House (Diary) is going to be closed down as we plan ahead for our future (which is great news for him.) The reality is that i am unable to commit the focus that i would like due to elements of my mental health. I feel ignorant when i cannot bring Bud's voice to his friends within a reasonable space of time. And when i do get ready to pen some words, it is becoming more of a struggle as the months go by. May i please take this opportunity to say thank you to Wispa, Tuppy, Holly, Pongo, Bella, Willow, Shadow, Harley and all other occasional visitors who dropped by to befriend Bud. He has enjoyed the laughs and sharing advice and overall friendship offered to him. He will take all he has experienced with him as his life's journey continues. My own personal thanks also to each and everyone of you who embraced my attempt to bring our dogs together in this manner. It has been amazing to see and read the characterisations of your beloved pets. And has humbled me as to how easily you joined in with what many would have found rather bizarre. If i am allowed i would like to leave my email address, should anyone wish to enquire after Bud over the space of the coming months and years. It is keepertony43@gmail.com. (i understand if this is a breach in regulations, and thus my message is edited.) It is said a lot, and sometimes too casually, but thank you so much for making my time on this forum as pleasurable as it has been. Keep safe and well everyone (dogs and parents) Tony.x
Best wishes, Tony. If you want to include your email address in your post, that's fine. But you may get a lot of spam as a result. Alternatively if you want to delete it from your post, but send it by PM to any moderator, then you can just tell people to ask the mods if they want your email address. Good luck with everything you do in the future.
Wishing you luck Tony, as well as Buddy and the OH. I have enjoyed your stories, dipping in and out, though not contributed much. I hope you stay well. You can always pop back and visit - no commitment required - always happy to hear from members old and new and to catch up. Take care, Jacqui and Lilly xx
All the best, Tony. I hope you can still drop in. Thanks for being such a valued member of the forum and for making such a great and entertaining contribution.
I wish you, your family and Bud the very best of luck and good health. I hope you will call in again sometime to let us know how you are all doing. Helen x
Thank you very much everyone. I am sure i will drop by if and when i can over the years to share updates and photos of Bud. It means a lot to me personally that you have all been so kind, patient, understanding, informative, and above all a lot of fun. Julie T......my email settings filter a large majority of spam so if it is ok i will keep my email within the message i have sent for ease of contact. It may not been needed but i wanted to leave the option just incase i don't get on here that much.
Hi Tony. It's been great fun following Bud's explanations of the world. Thanks for giving him a voice. I know that Holly would like me to remind you that fruity flapjacks are the way to Labrador's heart
Just to say, Tony, I've absolutely loved reading Bud's Diary. You have a vivid, engaging style of writing which pulls people in and added a completely new style on the Forum. Very best wishes to you all - be assured you are in our thoughts xxx
Phil - Many thanks. It was truly enjoyable letting Bud speak for himself. And yes Holly, we are still aware just how tasty fruity flapjacks are. Bud has been getting a good taste for them now. I think he likes them more than i d Kath - Thank you so very much. Writing has always been a love of mine and allows me a form of expression i cannot portray in any other way. It is also the best way for me to communicate with all but a very few who are closest to me. I fear losing some of my ability to let the written word do my talking, but every day, week and month that i am writing like i am now the more i believe i will retain much of who i am.
Hi Tony, so sorry we've not been around to join in recently; life, as ever, has been hectic (Willow and Shadow are glaring at me, tapping away on my silver box thing again) and there are never enough hours in the day! You will be missed - it's been fun reading about Bud's exploits - along with everyone else's. Please do try to pop by from time to time with updates. Willow and Shadow send licks to Bud, and wish him ongoing happiness - and plenty of CHEEEEEEEEEEEESE!!! x
Wishing you the very best for the future, your health & well being - love from Belle & Coco - & me xx
Thank you for all your contributions to the forum Tony, they are much appreciated and we'd all love to hear from you again when you feel ready. Best wishes, Pippa
You will be missed Tony, Bud and your OH. I have laughed, cried and had happy tears reading Bud's antics over the months. Harley has lived speaking with Bud and says she hopes he carries on being good for you. It would be great to touch base now and then to see how you are all doing I wish you all the best for your future x
I will miss you Tony and Bud. Do write when you can, keep that ability going for as long as you feel able. I communicate better through the written word, comes more from the inner person.
Ah, you'll both be missed, Tony and Bud! Please do pop back onto the forum every now and then and share your latest news. Pongo has really enjoyed his chats with Bud, and with all his other pals who have visited Bud's House. It is a confusing world for a young labrador, and sometimes it is only other labradors that can help explain it....so he is very grateful to Bud and to you for creating a space to do that. I know that I've benefited from looking at the world through my dog's eyes (which of course I've had to do in order to help him with the tappy thing) - it has been both entertaining and enlightening! May you and Bud continue your adventures together, discover wonderful things to do with each other and about each other, and always stand shoulder to shoulder as "pack" in the face of a challenging world! You will always have friends here on the forum whenever you choose to drop in. Pongo sends licks and bounces to Bud. And I'm sending a tummy rub to him (and the human equivalent to you, whatever that may be!) Good luck in whatever you do now. Rosie x
To everyone who has offered a few words since my last response, thank you so very much. I really don't know what else to say as this abundance of kindness is very overpowering and humbling. I wish I could reply to each of you individually but I am having to group my gratitude into bursts such as I am doing now. I think I will be able to drop by every so often and share updates, and I would love to be able to do so. And Bud would enjoy talking with his friends and their parents at the same time. I would probably start a new thread each time though to keep things current. With regards to Bud's Diary, and then Bud's House, instead of closing them down completely I will keep them on the site for newcomers to possibly read. Maybe there is still some pleasure to be gained from what has been shared. At risk of repeating myself, thank you so very much again to each one of you. You have raised a smile and made me feel very welcome, and this makes me even more determined to not lose touch completely. Until we next speak. Keep safe, and let your delightful canine characters heal you and bring you the same joy that Bud brings to my family. Tony. (Bud sends a cheesy grin and his own love to you all, in the form of quite a wet tongue.) X
All the very best from me too , I have read your diary and enjoyed it immensely , please do drop by when you feel able, you will be welcome and take care x
