    Today I took Maisie to her first puppy training class and she excelled herself! :D

    I've been doing some small daily training sessions at home, just things like sit, and waiting for her food bowl to hit the floor, and recall in the garden, but I really didn't expect Maisie to perform any of these today as it's all been done at home. The first exercise we did was to do a "sit" and for me to move away a step and then back while she stayed sitting, and she did it, but not once, every time! Proud mum moment!! The trainer was impressed! We did recall, changing direction, with success!

    If I hadn't been part of this forum, reading all your posts and also reading Pippa's new book, I wouldn't have known where to start and would have probably started to train her the wrong way ::). So, a big THANK YOU!

    Oh very jealous. Taking Pongo to his fifth puppy class tonight and I really hate them - so many dogs in a small space, and ALL he wants to do is go play with each one! I go through half a ton of treats just keeping him sat nicely in front of me rather than throttling at the end of his lead....

    <big sigh!>

    Come on Pongo, I know you can do it....concentrate....be nice for me tonight pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

    Wish us luck...

    Nice work, Debs!!! :D

    Rosie, Pongo is totally normal - he has a playful, friendly, curious nature which is lovely :) Puppy classes are usually the most distracting environments known to humankind....

    Thanks all! I have to say though that there were only 3 other dogs there and we were outside at the trainers house, not in a hall. The training course officially starts next Thursday, so it will be interesting to see what happens! ::)

    Thanks Jane, let's hope she's as good this week! We've just been out on a little walk and she is definitely gaining confidence! Maisie will be 11 weeks tomorrow! Where does the time go too? Here's a new photo taken yesterday:
