This is a really sad time. You and your puppy will need each other. I hope your heart can feel a little lighter soon.

I was in tears reading your sad news, it hurts when they have to go, I am so sorry. I am glad you stayed with her, that will have been a comfort for her to have rested her head in your lap.

So very very sorry to read your sad news , having lost two close together , I know how devastating it is . No words can ease your pain, but staying with her until the bitter end would make sure that your darling girl knew you were there , and loved her :(

I am really so sorry for your loss and I know it hurts like hell.

You did your very best for her to the end and did not selfishly prolong things for her. No one could do more.

I can't say anything that will help but I feel heartbroken for you losing your beautiful girl and so soon after Teddy :'( :'( :'( You held onto your girl to make her feel loved and safe which is what a loving owner does for their beloved friend. You will miss her terribly but intime your memories will help you to think of the lovely times you spent together. Please take care xxx :'(

Thanks again everyone for the warmth and concern you have shown.

I'm happy to report that many friends have called by today to say that they are thinking of us....and Buddy has not been short of doggy playmates.

However, I feel quite numb, as though this is all happening to someone else, not me. I suspect this is just part of the grieving process....

I share your pain, we lost our faithful friend at 13 only a few months ago. I still think he'll be waiting at the bottom of the stairs for me, tail wagging. It's a horrible time but it will pass and be replaced with all your happy memories.
They give us so much love.

I am so very sorry, how terribly sad. You will never forget her; her memory will always be with you. And you did the best thing by staying with her to the end. She will have felt no pain and no fear, with you holding her. :'(

Buddy is clearly missing Fudge as much as the rest of our family, as he is noticeably subdued whilst at home and in the garden.

We have both benefitted from going on lots of walks today- I have felt better from having fresh air and he has enjoyed meeting playmates and racing around.

I took a photo of him sitting in the bluebells today and it made me smile and remember that we are lucky to have him in our family: https://www.dropbox.com/s/r107iezeksgesdh/2014-05-06 17.48.32.jpg

Thank you again for all your kind words,

    That's a lovely photo of Buddy. :)

You and Buddy won't forget Fudge - ever - you will always love Fudge.

But it'll be a comfort having Buddy to love - and he looks extremely lovable!
