To celebrate another successful session in the bath for Juno and her inflamed skin, I decided we would for a nice walk down one of the local voie vertes and that we would extend the walk to see how her elbow responds .

So after getting myself ready, picking up mobile, bum bag and treats, house keys and car keys and a bottle of water, I loaded Juno in the car. As it's Sunday the roads are much quieter (no shops open) so I decided to go for one of the walks which are farthest away from us. So twenty minutes later we arrived in the parking area with no other cars there. Got the car ramp out for Juno, opened the boot, looked at her as she looked at me expectantly and realised I had forgotten something - Juno's collar and lead! Ok, about turn 20 minutes back to the house to collect collar and lead and off out again for our walk. I decided we would not go for the original destination and settled on one which is only 15 minutes in the car.

At least the weather improved as we parked so we had a lovely walk and only saw 1 jogger, one group of three people walking and 1 cyclist. On the way back I dropped Juno's lead to allow her more freedom (she's meant to be walks with no off lead at the moment) and she happily ambled along having a sniff and catching up with me and then walking alongside. Still can't believe I managed to leave her collar and lead behind - just as well I always double check that Juno's in the car :D:D

Heehee! I did this once with mine, although I was taking them from the house. It was about ten minutes later I realised that neither of them were wearing collars! Luckily, they didn't need them :)

But you're not the only one :D

Oh blast! I carry a spare collar in my dog walking bag - just in case, don't know why. Buy a new collar and lead and leave the old ones in the car!

oh dear! similar happened to us this week - with the intention of doing some work with Coco on the long line, we set off with two dogs and their respective collars & leads, 2 bags of treats and a tennis ball - drove to an enclosed (mainly) field about 10 minutes away. Arrived - no long line! By the time we drove home & back again Coco was so worked up with excitement he needed a good walk to calm down first.

    Oh how frustrating!

Definitely a good plan to have spares in the car :)

I have 2 spare collars in the kitchen already - 1 is for when were going swimming and I switch her name tag and bell to that one, and the other is the same as she currently wears, just a size larger (I got it ready for her to grow into but she's showing no sign of that )
I also have 2 leads, one for walking in town or on or doggie walks the other is a long line which is what I have been using as she is o restricted exercise to give her more freedom.

Might have to have a look in the local garden centre for a spare for the car but the choice here is so poor unless you're into heavy leather with studs :(

Oh dear, luckily it all turned out well. I have an emergency bag in my boot it contains spare collar, lead, towel, poo bags, water bottle, bowl and dog treats. It was my son's idea. He said you'll probably never need them because they are there.

It's strange but as I collected all the bits together and locked the front door with Juno sitting beside me I felt there was something missing, just couldn't work out what it was . I use a bum bag for walking Juno which has a store of poop bags, wet wipes, tissues, treats, some money (notes and change) and as plenty of storage for my phone, car key and house keys and we already have a water bowl and towel in the car for her as well. Perhaps I'll have to produce a checklist to run through at the front door :D:D. Just as well Juno travels so well in the car - she wasn't at all bothered about the toing and froing :D

Oops! Don't worry, I went out without the poo bags the other day. Of course, Ella decided to poo so I had to to walk to the Cafe near our walk and ask them for a bag (ended up with a coffee and a muffin too ☺) so that we could walk all the way back and pick up her poo!

My pockets are full of poo bags and kibble.

Should I forget the poo bag Molly will choose the most public place she can to perform and wait for an audience too.

I often pop one in my back trouser pocket from where Molly pinches them and destroys them.

sdegg Sounds as if there is a story there ........ I don't forget Juno as I'm always checking she's in the car because she's so quiet. She just gets in and lays down on her mattress and that's it until we reach the other end and let her out.

I have to say, I'm disappointed you did not come up with something so dumb it would make me feel better about dumb things I've done. ;) As it is, welcome to the club, been there (and back for collar) done that. :)

friends OH took the dogs to the park had a lovely time but the dogs were a bit muddy so he hitched them to a fence and dried them a bit, then got in the car and drove off. He got all the way home went to get the dogs out of the boot.............no dogs. Luckily he was on 5 mins away and someone else we know was guarding them for him. The dogs were a bit bemused but old enough to understand Bryans ways. phew he never did that again. and his wife only found out from someone else on the park

    That's nothing.

It was our son's christening. We were all dressed up for the occasion - cake (made by me decorated with blue teddies!!) in the car, baby bag, you name it. Set off, drove for a while, turned round to look - no baby!

He was fast asleep in his carry cot back at home.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
