As you are aware our little Dawson is fed at 7am and 7pm.It would seem alot of you think he shoukd be fed three or four times a day.
I have kept the 12 hour gap but during the day he gets the odd random piece of cheese apple strawberry
    or cucumber.
Am I doing wrong or is it ok?

We feed Juno (14 weeks) at 8am and 8pm and haven't had any problems. Our breeder is the one who both recommended and started Juno on this routine, so we've kept at it, and she seems happy. Not lethargic at all during the day, plus we give her frozen peanut butter in her kong every time we put her in her crate.

The available information hasn't changed since last time you asked ;)

It is recommended that young puppies are fed four times a day, because it is better for their stomachs to have their meals split into smaller portions throughout the day. It makes it easier to digest and reduces the risk of gastric distress, compared to larger meals fed less frequently.

Homer was fed 4 times a day until he was 4 months old then 3 times a day until he was 8 months old then down to twice a day. We weigh out his daily quantity and divide it into breakfast and dinner leaving a handful for treats and to put into his Kong. He also gets a carrot and a dentastix after dinner.
